Get your red on, it's playoff time again

I know, I'm a few days late with the blog, but that's ok. We're just a couple of hours away from the puck drop for game three of the first round series with Nashville. That means it's time to get your red on and support the home team.

The Red Wings are playing fantastically, and definitely should be up 2-0 heading into the game, but now it looks like the Wings will have to close out the series in Nashville in game five rather than at home next week in game four.

It appears that the Wings are playing as well as they were a month and a half ago when they were among the best teams in hockey, not like the team that limped into the playoffs as a five seed.

So as Mickey Redmond once sang in a promo song, "Get your red on, it's playoff time again"

Jimenez to drop appeal after start

This is the problem with pitchers in the major leagues. He will 'serve' his suspension, but not actually miss any time. Since pitchers only start every fifth game, and the Indians have an off day mixed in he won't actually miss any time. It's a bunch a crap if you ask me.

So he files an appeal, will make his first start and then drop the appeal to serve the suspension. It's unfair. Pitchers should be suspended differently than position players to stop this from happening.

What do you think?
